Our Holiday celebration this year honored progressive educationist Julie Zuckerman and the Institute’s volunteers, faculty and administrators.

Ms. Zuckerman, prinicpal at Central Park East 1 elementary school in Harlem, has been a vital supporter of the Institute’s work.

The December 1 event, held at Alma Mathews House on West 11th Street in Greenwich Village, drew more than 75 people.

Singer, drummer and dancer Alessandra Belloni, along with guitarist Wilson Montuori and violinist Susan Aquila, performed traditional southern Italian spiritual and folk music.

The Institute also debuted its signature Baggu tote, available for anyone who donates $100 or more.
